Mitchell Robinson’s a great center who can finish well at the rim and rebound at a high level. He is definitely a promising young prospect for the New York Knicks, and he is currently averaging 8.4 PPG and 8.7 RPG while shooting 76.2% from the field.

Recently though, Mitchell Robinson’s name was mentioned in the news for non-basketball reasons. Robinson’s father was reported as missing on February 11th, and Mitchell Robinson took to social media to spread the word and try to help get his father back safely.

Luckily, Mitchell Robinson’s father has been found. He was reportedly “found during a routine traffic stop” and “released with a verbal warning” afterward. Lucas Semb of the Pensacola News Journal relayed the news.

The father of former Pine Forest basketball player turned New York Knick, Mitchell Robinson III, has been found safely.

ECSO chief public information officer Amber Southard reported that Robinson Jr. has been located safely . He was found by the Clayton Police Department in Clayton, Missouri.

The Clayton Police Department says Robinson Jr. was found during a routine traffic stop. When they ran his name through the system, he was shown to be a missing person in Escambia County.

He was released with a verbal warning.

It is good to see an update and a happy ending to this situation. The wait for news must have been nerve-wracking, and there is no doubt that Mitchell Robinson is likely relieved that his father is safe and sound.

The Knicks are currently 12th in the Eastern Conference. They could potentially make the play-in tournament if they play well for the rest of the season. Mitchell Robinson’s defense and rebounding will be key to making that become a reality, and hopefully, we see him play well for the rest of the season.
