Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball are both exciting young prospects in the league, drafted in the 2020 NBA draft. Anthony Edwards has shown that he is an incredible three-level scorer and athlete, and he is currently averaging 21.9 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 3.6 APG. Meanwhile, LaMelo Ball got his first All-Star appearance and has shown the ability to facilitate for his teammates at a high level. Ball is currently putting up 20.0 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 7.5 APG.

Prior to the Rising Stars game, Anthony Edwards was asked about himself and LaMelo Ball becoming the new faces of the league. Edwards claimed that he told LaMelo Ball to “keep balling” earlier, and quipped about how a lot of draft analysts thought that his and Ball’s 2020 NBA draft class wasn’t going to be good.

That’s incredible man. I was telling him the other day man, “Keep balling bruh. Keep doing you.”

Before we got drafted, they were saying our draft class was going to be terrible… Everybody in my draft class, I’m just happy to see them being successful in the league because of how much they had to say bad about us.

There is no question that LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards both have promising futures, and that both look like they’ll be staples in the All-Star game in the future. They are both doing good things with their respective franchises, and the Charlotte Hornets and the Minnesota Timberwolves look like they could be playoff-tier teams in the future.

Anthony Edwards was not selected for the All-Star game, but it is clear that he had a good case. Perhaps the snub can motivate him, and he has previously stated that he wants to win the MVP award next season. Hopefully, we see Anthony Edwards continue to improve, and it is clear that he has the talent to be a future face of the league.
