Joel Embiid On The Scoring Title: “It Would Be A Huge Accomplishment, Especially As A Dominant Big Man.”

As the MVP front runner, Joel Embiid is having one of his best seasons yet. Through 44 games, the 5x All-Star is averaging 29.5 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game on 49% shooting.

His scoring output this season, which is the highest of his career so far, could result in him winning the NBA’s scoring title, a mark that the star big man recognized in a recent chat with the media.

“It is possible, but you gotta do whatever it takes to win,” said Embiid. “I’m looking at it, I know my role is to go out there and dominate. I’m gonna get the ball and I’m gonna make things happen and, obviously, we’re adding James (Harden) who I think is gonna make the game easy for all of us.”

“Especially me because I don’t get a lot of easy shots or easy points,” Embiid continued. “I gotta work for most of them so I just hope that he’s gonna make my game easier as I’m gonna make his game easier too. That’s the goal of it.”

“It would be a huge accomplishment, especially as a dominant big man,” he finished. “I’m still 7-foot-2 and 500 pounds (he was joking) so I guess you could say that I’m a big man, but it would be a huge accomplishment. I’m just looking forward to going out there for the remaining 26/27 games and just go out there and keep doing what I’ve been doing and just dominating.”

Embiid, 27, can score in a multitude of ways. Whether it’s under the rim, in the post, or on the perimeter, there are no limits to his game when it comes to putting the ball in the hoop.

Alongside James Harden, Embiid will only have more opportunities going forward, and the Sixers will be in the hunt for the title again.

All-in-all, it’s shaping up to be an amazing campaign for the Cameroon native and by the time the season comes to a close, his trophy case is sure to include some new additions.
