Skip Bayless is one of the most well-known faces of sports debate, with his often controversial takes on his show Undisputed leading to a lot of discussion among fans of the NBA. His main incendiary take is regarding LeBron James, with Skip often demeaning the King’s achievements and arguing vehemently against him being the greatest of all time.
And it does seem that Bayless is quite invested in maintaining his agenda against LeBron, once revealing on Undisputed the lengths he will go to just to watch LeBron James play. In conversation with his co-host, Shannon Sharpe and his wife Ernestine, Skip revealed that he has skipped designated date nights with his wife just to watch LeBron in action.
Skip Bayless: (Talking to his wife) “You are number 1, I do give you every second outside of this job. I don’t do anything else. Friday night is date night unless LeBron is playing.”
Ironically, Bayless is so involved in following LeBron James, considering that he often argues that the King isn’t the best player in the NBA, let alone the greatest player of all time. However, even if people agree with his opinions or not, the fact that Skip remains so dedicated to the job he does is commendable in its way.
Bayless has had a lot of ammunition to attack LeBron with this season as the Lakers have been struggling from start to finish. While even he has acknowledged that James is individually playing at an MVP level, the decision to bring Russell Westbrook to the Lakers, which is often attributed to LeBron, has been something that has been bashed regularly by the media, including Bayless. The Lakers will need to improve on their 24-26 record soon, if they are hoping to avoid further criticism, or indeed, finishing the season outside the playoffs.
