LeBron James has been in the NBA longer than he has been alive at this point and the competition’s biggest superstar celebrated his 37th birthday on Thursday. LeBron came into the league at the age of 18 and hasn’t looked back since, this is his 19th season in the association.

And The King clearly celebrated in style, posting pictures of himself on Instagram doing a snarl and posing with a cigar. LeBron also posed in front of a tower of crowns, symbolizing his legendary nickname, King James.

The Lakers man shared a message with the photos as well, referring to himself as a young man. His body has shown very few signs of slowing down so that’s unsurprising. James also had a message for all the people that wished him on his birthday, addressing fans and haters alike.

“37 of them thangs around the ☀️! Rumble Young Man Rumble!! I appreciate all the love today from family, friends, partners, associates, colleague, fans and haters for the bday wishes!! Been a great one and still 2 and half hours left! Love y’all coming straight from the King’s Throne! ❤️✊ #ThekidfromAKRON “

James hasn’t had too great a birthday week though, with the Los Angeles Lakers falling to a loss against the Memphis Grizzlies one day before he celebrated his 37th. James himself was imperious, scoring 37 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough for the Lakers to grab the win.

The King has had plenty of successes in his time though, he has managed to become the greatest of his generation, winning 4 NBA Championships to go along with 4 MVPs and 4 Finals MVPs. As he enters the final chapter of his career, it’s unlikely that he is done just yet, he will be chasing at least 2 more titles to catch up to Michael Jordan and possibly break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time NBA scoring record.
