A LeBron James Museum Will Be Opening In Akron In 2023

LeBron James is one of the best players to ever play the game of basketball. He is widely viewed as one of the most versatile players of all time, and he has won championships on every single franchise he has been on. Some even have LeBron James as the GOAT.

It seems as though there will be a museum opening in LeBron James’ hometown of Akron to commemorate him. Craig Webb of the Akron Beacon Journal provided some details about the museum and revealed that the museum will be fully open in 2023.

The LeBron James museum will be part of the transformation of the former Tangier entertainment complex in Akron, which is being completely reshaped and rebranded into the House Three Thirty.

The museum will occupy much of the basement of House Three Thirty, which also will be home to restaurants, bars and retail space when it opens next year.

No exact date us set for the opening of the museum, which will charge an admission.

Details about the various exhibits are being worked out with Upper Deck Sports, the trading card and collectables company that is the title sponsor for the museum.

Michele Campbell, executive director of the LeBron James Family Foundation, said the idea of a museum has been kicked around for a while.

The acquisition of the Tangier and the creation of the House Three Thirty made it possible.

Since the I Promise School opened down the street in 2018, Campbell said, there has been a steady stream of visitors from near and far taking photos of the iconic sign out front and requests to tour the school that is home to a collection of James’ iconic Nike shoes.

Campbell said it’s just not feasible to host visitors in the school, but the House Three Thirty — with its restaurants and bars and a museum once it fully opens in 2023 — will be a tourist destination.

There is no doubt that this is a good way to honor LeBron James’ accomplishments. He has been amazing as the face of the league during his career, and it’ll certainly be exciting to see what the museum will look like when it opens.

As of now though, LeBron James’ focus is likely on the Los Angeles Lakers. They have struggled a lot this season, and are currently a play-in tier team. They have received a lot of criticism in the media, with some people even suggesting they won’t be making it past the first round. Hopefully, they are able to figure things out in the future.
