Aaron Gordon Explains To Dwyane Wade Why He’s Wearing No. 50: “I Mean, It Spoke To Me Man. You Know I Got The Most 50s In The Dunk Contest. It’s A Good Number For Me.”

Aaron Gordon and Dwyane Wade have some history together, especially after the then Orlando Magic player fell short in another Slam Dunk contest back in 2020. Gordon engaged in a big battle with Derrick Jones Jr., then part of the Miami Heat. Flash gave the Heat player a 9 in his last dunk, which gave the win to DJJ in one of the most controversial endings to any Slam Dunk contest.

They had the chance to talk on Thursday after the Denver Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Clippers and Wade asked Gordon why he chose that number in his new team. He was traded by the Magic ahead of the trade deadline and was ready to have a fresh start. Wade was curious about the number and he didn’t miss his chance to ask.

Wade: “My only question to you is, what’s up with the number bro? Why are you wearing 50?”

Gordon: “I mean, it spoke to me man. You know I got the most 50s in the dunk contest. It’s a good number for me.”

That was a little reminder for Wade and his infamous moment in 2020 at Chicago. If that wasn’t enough, Shaquille O’Neal chimed in on this conversation and trolled Wade, asking him if he wasn’t the one who gave Gordon 9.

“What did you do, give him a nine?” O’Neal asked Wade.

Even though it’s been over a year, people are still talking about this and some will have to wait a long time before they forget about this whole situation. The jokes will always be there and this was a very good example.
