Lonzo Ball has been dealing with a series of unfortunate injuries that have kept him away from the court. The talented point guard underwent another knee injury a couple of months ago, which is expected to give him a chance to come back eventually.

Chicago Bulls teammate Alex Caruso recently shared his thoughts on this situation, admitting that Lonzo is doing well and waiting patiently to get back on the court.

“He’s been great when I’ve seen him, as far as spirit and going to work,” Caruso said on The Ryen Russillo Podcast, via Basketball Network. “That’s kind of all you can do in that position. You can’t really force anything when it comes to injuries, right? The body has to heal, and then you can get back out there and play. This is one of those things where it’s been healing, and then I think there’s been setbacks. He’s trying to get back to healing again. For his sake, I hope he can just play basketball again.”

It’s been over a year since Lonzo Ball played a basketball game. With his injury, the Chicago Bulls’ ambitious project derailed, and it’s unclear if they’ll be able to get things back on track, even with Ball on the roster.

The Bulls are now a wandering team with no aspirations, set to remain a play-in contender and nothing else. Ball can make a big impact when he returns, but the timetable for the most recent operation is still unknown.

Lonzo Ball Is Unlikely To Return Next Season

Ball will face a couple of challenges on his way back to the court. He’ll try to be the first NBA player to return to the high level after getting a cartilage transplant. He would miss the entire 2023-24 NBA season to get better and return in the best shape to the competition.

This has been an uphill battle for Zo, but he’s confident that things can get better, and everybody within the Bulls organization is rooting for him.
