Alex Caruso is, without a doubt, one of the best role players in the league. His perimeter defense is highly regarded, and this year, the Bulls notably were much worse defensively without his presence.

During 2021 free agency, Alex Caruso notably left the Los Angeles Lakers to join the Chicago Bulls. Throughout this season, the Lakers’ defense clearly struggled, and many fans have previously stated that Alex Caruso should have been retained by the franchise.

While playing for an organization like the Los Angeles Lakers is obviously great for any player, Alex Caruso has recently claimed that he doesn’t regret his choice to leave the Los Angeles Lakers, as he got the “most money” and the “best opportunity” with the Chicago Bulls. Jonathan Adams of Heavy.com relayed the news.

There is no equivalent of a Taylor Swift breakup album forthcoming. When asked how the 2021 offseason could have played out differently, Caruso again takes the high road, noting he would not “change it for anything.”

“I think it worked out great for me,” Caruso admitted. “I think I got the most money I could get. I got the best opportunity I could get. Went to the best team and organization that I think really supports me and believes in me and gives me an opportunity to play basketball the way that I play best. I don’t think I’d change it for anything.”

There is no doubt that Alex Caruso is a player that simply drives winning, and he has shown that by helping the Chicago Bulls become a playoff team once again. Hopefully, he is able to help them make a deep run next season.

The Chicago Bulls will look to be a top-tier team in the Eastern Conference next year. Alex Caruso’s defense will be key for them, and he should form a menacing partnership with Lonzo Ball on that end of the floor.
