Kevin Garnett could make a shocking return to Minnesota if rumors are to believe. The Big Ticket left a huge market in Minneapolis, becoming one of the greatest, if not the greatest player in franchise history.

Even after taking his talents to Boston in 2007, Garnett never stopped loving the city he called home for 12 years. Following his retirement, Garnett was linked with the franchise again, as he tried to purchase it from Glen Taylor. Unfortunately, that never came to fruition, which left KG fuming and taking shots at Taylor.

Meanwhile, Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez did purchase the team and are trying to bring it back to life in the next couple of years. The pair has big plans for the teams, and according to a recent report, they could bring Garnett on board.

According to Charley Walters of Pioneer Press, the Lore-Rodriguez duo is interesting in teaming up with Garnett for a $100 million investment. KG’s ability to connect with players would be a major reason why they want him as part of the organization, while other plans could be carried out if the 2008 NBA champion decided to join A-Rod and Lore.

There’s buzz now that proposed Timberwolves owners Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore want ex-Wolves star Kevin Garnett to join the pair for a $100 million investment and for his player input. If that happens, a Garnett statue outside Target Center would be erected as well as retirement of his No. 21 jersey.

This would be incredible for KG, who tried to buy the T-Wolves before Taylor decided to sell it to Rodriguez and Lore. Garnett won his MVP award in Minnesota, was close to reaching the NBA Finals, and became one of the best players in the league during his era, as well as one of the best power forwards of all time. Yes, he became a champion in Boston, but nobody can deny how impactful he was in Minnesota.

Time will tell if he joins forces with Alex and Marc. If that happens, it’ll be an incredible return to the team.
