Dejounte Murray is well-known as one of the best two-way guards in the league, and he is widely viewed as the best player on the San Antonio Spurs. Currently, Murray is putting up 19.3 PPG, 8.5 RPG, and 8.9 APG this season. There is no question that he is putting up All-Star type numbers, and Dejounte Murray is definitely one of the most underrated players in the league.

Despite his great season thus far, it seems as though the San Antonio Spurs would be willing to trade him. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the San Antonio Spurs could be willing to move Murray in the offseason, though he is likely to stay put through the season. Murray was notably featured in trade rumors during the 2021 offseason.

“There’s been some chatter in the league about whether the Spurs would be willing to trade him. Maybe not during the season but next summer”

“There’s been some chatter in the league about whether the Spurs would be willing to trade him. Maybe not during the season but next summer”

It remains to be seen if the San Antonio Spurs will indeed trade Dejounte Murray. He is only 25 years old and is about to hit his prime. If they do though, there are a lot of teams that would likely be interested. He could fit on a lot of teams that need a solid point guard that can score and make plays for others, while also playing some spectacular defense. Dejounte Murray would definitely become a difference-maker for a lot of teams.

The San Antonio Spurs are currently in a rebuilding process. They are 13th in the Western Conference, and it looks as though they are more focused on developing their young players rather than trying to contend for the NBA championship. Hopefully, we see the team get back to contention sooner rather than later, and with their top-tier front office, there’s a good chance that it will happen.
