There have been countless rumors about the Philadelphia 76ers this season. Reports of a rift between their two stars, Embiid and Simmons, have all but taken over the narrative of the franchise.
Still, despite everything, 11x All-Star Allen Iverson still has faith that his team can hoist the trophy this June.
CBS: How do you feel about your former franchise, the Philadelphia 76ers, at the season’s break?
Iverson: Sky is the limit for us. We just have to get healthy. We haven’t had a chance to be [fully] healthy and have our guys together all at once. Once we put it all together and get healthy then everything will be good.
CBS: Do you think the Sixers have a legitimate shot at winning the title this season?
Iverson: Oh yeah. For sure. Yep.
Either Iverson has some serious faith in his team or he hasn’t watched much of the Sixers this season.
They have been largely inconsistent on both sides of the ball. And while injuries have been an increasing concern for them, the majority of their issues have just been as a result of poor play.
A.I. does have a point though. Their potential, with Simmons, Harris, and Embiid, is through the roof.
But it will be up to those individuals in particular to capitalize on it.
