Allen Iverson may have retired in 2013, but the icon still has his skills intact — something he proved to the world when he schooled a bunch of young kids in a video that’s gone viral on the internet.

Note that the clip doing the rounds is from two years ago, but as does the odd gems that resurface, Iverson playing hoops and showing off his handles had fans fondly recollect the time he dominated the NBA with his scintillating gameplay.

The comments section of the video on Instagram was filled with fans lauding the Philadelphia 76ers legend. Please note the comments have been edited for clarity.

“They still biting on the cross,” one of the fans wrote. This was seconded by another who said, “AI still got the handles.”

“How awesome would I be to have a pic or video of your kid squaring up against AI? #legend” a comment read. One of the phrases that made more sense in describing Iverson’s skills on the court was a fan declaring “Gold never rusts.”

“That’s nice teaching the kids,” a comment read. “I don’t think they really realize how big this is… Wow,” a fan wrote. “My boy Allen teaching them young youth the game,” a fan opined.

Iverson had a decorated career-winning MVP in 2001. He was also an eleven-time All-Star and made the 75th Anniversary team for his stellar achievements during his time in the NBA.

Consistency was one of the terms that could be rightly used to describe the 47-year-old as he averaged 26.7 PPG, 3.7 RPG, and 2.6 APG over the course of his illustrious career. The guard is regarded as one of the greatest scorers in the league to date.

Allen Iverson Reveals How Michael Jordan Inspired Him To Become A Better Player

Iverson has inspired a generation of players with his skill and tenacity, and he credited one man for inspiring him to be the best version of himself: Michael Jordan.

His bond with MJ has been well-documented, and in one of his interviews with GQ, the prolific scorer revealed his connection with the Chicago Bulls legend.

“I wanted to be looked at like him,” Iverson said. “I wanted to be feared like him. I wanted to be popular like him. I wanted to be in game situations like him. I wanted to dominate like him. I wanted to be the guy that walk up in the room and then drain the goddamn room, regardless of who was in there.”

There’s no doubt that Iverson will continue to be a massive influence in the years to come, and for those who think he’s done and retired, a look at the clip shows he still has enough gas left in the tank.
