The Sacramento Kings have lost yet another game, this time to the Dallas Mavericks 96-112. There's no question that this was a disappointing result for the Kings, as they were facing a Mavericks squad that was missing key players such as Luka Doncic and Tim Hardaway Jr.

Alvin Gentry seemed frustrated with the Sacramento Kings after the loss, claiming that he'd be "at home drinking" after the game. He is clearly disappointed with his squad. This isn't the first time he has expressed his displeasure with the team either. After their loss against the Memphis Grizzlies, Gentry claimed that that loss was the most disappointed he's been in 34 years in the league.

There is no question that Alvin Gentry's disappointment is justified. The Kings have lost 4 of their last 6 games, and they have shown no signs of improvement as a squad. Any coach would be disappointed with these performances, and hopefully, we do see the team get better in the future.

On paper, the Sacramento Kings have some talented players. Buddy Hield is an elite shooter. De'Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton are both talented guards. Davion Mitchell is already a top-tier perimeter defender. Richaun Holmes is an underrated big man. Harrison Barnes is a two-way wing player. However, they have just not been able to make it work as a unit, and develop chemistry on the roster.

Perhaps they can improve their performance next season as the young players get more experience. The Kings have the longest playoff drought in the league, and hopefully, they are able to break it soon. The city of Sacramento deserves a competitive team, and one would hope that the Kings start being able to compete for the playoffs sooner rather than later.
