It was a perfect “Who let the dog out?” moment after a college football game between the American Eagles and the George Washington Colonials was interrupted by a furry one who quickly stepped on the hardwood.

Minutes into the first quarter, a border collie ran onto the floor, and after a quick scan of the surroundings ran back the same way it entered.

It wasn’t too much of a break as the game resumed pretty quickly after. Forward Ricky Lindo Jr. was on his way to retrieve the ball that went out of bounds and when he saw the adorable furry intruder, he did have a bit of a scare even as the dog, took a U-turn and scampered back.

Minutes later, it was revealed that the dog’s name was Lucky and she was the halftime performer for the game at the Charles E. Smith Center. She was supposed to showcase her frisbee-catching skills, only her eagerness saw her get onto the court earlier than expected.

Fans React To Lucky’s Pitch Invasion

Lucky’s pitch invasion garnered quite the attention from fans on social media. While some were amused at the very sight, quite a few also had their shot at Lindo Jr. for getting scared.

One segment even felt every college game should have dogs performing at half-time. Here’s a look at some of the responses.

Honestly should do a random dog release at basketball games. Would make it super interesting.

Gotta appreciate when the booth does their homework. Knew the breed and I’m sure if his on court debut was longer we’d get what courts he ran on in high school, favor chew toy, marked territory, etc.

Bro was just trying to round up the players, cut him some slack.

And there’s a dog on the floor! I laugh hard every time I watch this.

the dog: “see ball get ball”

On the game front, the Eagles won 69-64 with Johnny O’Neil (19 points) and Matthew Rogers (16 points) doing the bulk of the scoring.
