Andre Iguodala Revealed Some NBA Players Are Still Mad At Kevin Garnett: “There’s A Guy That I Know Who Said, ‘If I See KG In A Supermarket And I’m 85 Year Old? I’m Swinging On Him’.”

Kevin Garnett is one of the greatest power forwards ever to play in the NBA, with an impressive resume that is highlighted by a championship with the Celtics in 2008 and an MVP award in 2004. While KG is remembered for his great play on the court, he was also one of the more vicious trash talkers around.

Many over the years have felt Garnett’s wrath on the court with his play as well as his trash talk and Andre Iguodala recently claimed on his podcast that there are ex-players who are still mad at KG and hold a grudge towards him for what he said to them.

(starts at 21:52 mark):

“I know guys that they wanna fight KG on site today. There’s a guy that I know who said, ‘If I see KG in a supermarket and I’m 85 years old? I’m swinging on him.’…. KG made a guy cry on my team… and I don’t wanna embarrass him to say his name. Dude was crying on the bench, man.”

What KG said to this player had to be extremely rough if he still holds a grudge and plans to hold it for the rest of his life, basically. Sometimes one can go over the line, and maybe Garnett did in this instance, but we’ll never know. The fact that it made a grown man cry is saying something, though.

Garnett seems to have mellowed down a bit since his playing days and he recently expressed his disappointment with Anthony Davis, stating that the Lakers big man should aim to win MVP next season. Considering how Davis has regressed these last couple of years, that seems like a long shot at this point and we doubt it happens. What isn’t in doubt is that Garnett probably needs to be on his guard in supermarkets, as there might well be someone out there who wants a swing at him.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
