The Los Angeles Lakers are blessed to have two superstars on the roster, Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

The dynamic duo has the ability to switch places as the leader of the team when required. Keeping that in mind, Anthony Davis recently revealed his views on being the leader of the Lakers ahead of LeBron James at times.

“Yeah. You have to embrace it. Obviously, we have another guy in LeBron,” Davis said. “I just try to do my part. They give me the ball, I try to go score and make a play. Do the right things and make the right reads. It gives me a lot of confidence that our guys, our coaches, our organization has enough confidence in me for me to be that guy to kind of lead the charge.”

Davis has done a great job of embracing his role as the leader of the Lakers. A perfect example of this was the Lakers’ recent Game 3 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

After an underwhelming performance in Game 2, Davis bounced back and helped the Lakers take back the lead in the series. Davis recorded 31 points, 17 rebounds, and 2 assists in the 111-101 win.

Anthony Davis Has Been Dominant On The Defensive End Of The Floor

The Lakers have several players who can get hot on the offensive end of the floor. Sure, Anthony Davis is one of them, but his primary job this season has been as the team’s defensive anchor.

In the first-round series against the Grizzlies, Davis has done a great job. So much so that, he has become the first Lakers player since Shaquille O’Neal to record 15 blocks in a three-game stretch during the playoffs.

AD started the series by recording seven blocks in Game 1. He followed it up by swatting five shots in Game 2 and registering three blocks in Game 3. If Davis can continue to be a force on defense, the Lakers will have no trouble in advancing to the second round of the playoffs.
