Anthony Davis had a hilarious reaction to LeBron James‘ incredible performance against Germany. As Davis walked away from Team USA’s final showcase win, he kept repeating LeBron’s name, before calling him an absolute monster and joking that he is still putting up great performances at the age of 45.

“LeBron James. LeBron Raymone James. Monster. He’s still doing this at 45.”

AD was clearly having a little fun at the expense of his Lakers’ teammates. The two have a great relationship with each other, and Davis has a lot of respect for him. So for him to take a cheeky dig at his age is not a big matter, and would probably make James himself laugh.

Joel Embiid also took a dig at James’ age during a recent interview, when trying to downplay Team USA’s chances at winning the gold at the Olympics. LeBron James will probably disagree with Embiid’s assessment of Team USA’s role as favorites, as he is looking to lead the country to gold once again.

LeBron had an incredible performance again today, as he put up 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal against Germany. Team USA gets a measure of revenge against Germany for the humiliating loss Germany handed them at the FIBA World Cup in 2023.

LeBron and Team USA have won all of their showcase matches in the build-up to the Olympics. This gives them a lot of momentum heading to Paris, where they look to secure their fifth consecutive gold medal.

Who Is The Best Player For Team USA?

Recently, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst claimed that Anthony Davis was the best player on Team USA. AD has been playing very well in their showcase games but hasn’t been able to convince Team USA head coach Steve Kerr to start him over Joel Embiid, or even alongside him.

Steve Kerr has named LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Joel Embiid as the only guaranteed starters for Team USA. Perhaps he will be forced to reconsider his stance given the way AD has been playing in all of the showcase games. AD might be Team USA’s best player.

Perhaps Anthony Edwards will disagree with this statement, as he called himself the number one option for Team USA, a role given to the best player on a team. But so far, Edwards hasn’t been able to secure a starting spot on the squad, so he may not have been correct in his assessment.

Team USA’s starting lineup at the Olympics will be a key talking point throughout the tournament, especially if one of the starting players underperforms in their role. Steve Kerr should try and look to rotate the squad whenever and wherever necessary, considering the incredible depth of players he has available to him.

The Olympics tip off for Team USA on the 28th of July, as they take on Serbia in their first game of the tournament. Considering they already defeated them in their showcase games, Team USA will be confident about their chances.
