Anthony Edwards is fast blossoming into NBA superstardom, having made his first All-Star appearance last season. But at 22 years of age, he is still young, and his idols are superstars that still dominate the league, like Kevin Durant. Edwards recently spoke about why KD is his favorite NBA player.

“Yeah, for sure,” Anthony Edwards said when asked if Kevin Durant is his favorite player. “He just love the game. He just remind me of myself. He just don’t care. He just going to go out there.

“He treat the game like the ball can do two things, you gonna make the shot or you’re going to miss the shot. And most people put too much into it. It’s either you’re gonna make it or you’re gonna miss it. Just shoot it the same way every time. And that’s pretty much why I love KD.”

Anthony Edwards has quickly become the leader of the Minnesota Timberwolves despite his young age and is growing as a scorer as well. He averaged 24.6 points per game last season and is only getting better with Team USA

Kevin Durant’s approach to the game is almost like a pure hooper’s perspective and it’s part of what makes him unique. Anthony Edwards does have that same ceiling in terms of talent, but he still needs to grow to reach that level.

Kevin Durant As A 22-Year-Old Was Better Than Anthony Edwards At The Same Age

While Anthony Edwards could potentially reach Kevin Durant’s level one day, Kevin Durant was ahead of him at the same age. In his first three seasons in the NBA, Durant averaged 25.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.

At the same juncture of his career, Anthony Edwards has averaged 21.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. Anthony Edwards has a lot of growing to do if he wants to be like his favorite player in the NBA. Looking at his current trajectory, he might just get there in the coming few years.
