Anthony Edwards Picks Kevin Durant As The GOAT Over Michael Jordan And LeBron James: “Cause He’s 7 Feet And Can Do Everything A Point Guard Can Do.”

3 Min Read

Kevin Durant is quite possibly the best player in the league currently. His shot creation is unparalleled, and there is no one that can take as many tough shots as Durant and still have his level of efficiency. There is no doubt that he is an all-time great and Hall-of-Famer.

While many people respect Kevin Durant’s ability on the court, there are not a lot of people that would consider him the GOAT of basketball. The contenders for that title among most fans are Michael Jordan or LeBron James. However, Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards named Kevin Durant as the greatest player ever when speaking to Taylor Rooks. He revealed that his reasoning was based on the fact that Durant is able to do anything that a point guard can do but while being 7 feet tall.

Taylor Rooks: So, Anthony, up there when we were talking about KD, you said you think he’s the greatest player.

Anthony Edwards: Yeah.

Taylor Rooks: Ever or right now?

Anthony Edwards: Ever… cause he’s 7 feet, and can do everything a point guard can do.

Taylor Rooks: Over Jordan?

Anthony Edwards: Yeah.

Taylor Rooks; Over LeBron?

Anthony Edwards: Yeah.

Anthony Edwards’ take will certainly be viewed as controversial, though one can certainly understand his reasoning. Kevin Durant averaged 26.9 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 5.6 APG. Kevin Durant is an extremely versatile player, and while he’s known primarily as being an elite scorer, he has a very multi-faceted game. Durant’s playmaking has improved over the years as well, and he is fully capable of running an offense. In terms of pure skill, there’s no doubt that he’s one of the most complete players that we have ever seen.

While Kevin Durant is definitely not the GOAT right now, there is a chance that he wins a few championships over the next few seasons and puts himself in those discussions among fans. It remains to be seen whether he’ll be able to do that, but there’s no reason to doubt that Kevin Durant will at least attempt his hardest to win at the highest level and bring a championship to Brooklyn.
