The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Memphis Grizzlies faced off in a first-round series during the 2022 playoffs. The series ended in six games, but the two teams were clearly capable of winning against one another on any given night.

The team’s 2022 playoff appearance was their first since 2018, and their inexperience showed at times. The Minnesota Timberwolves blew multiple leads to the Memphis Grizzlies, despite looking as if they were in command of the game.

Anthony Edwards has recently claimed that he feels as though the Minnesota Timberwolves “handed” the Memphis Grizzlies the series, noting that he felt as if the Timberwolves had “every game won”. Zion Olojede of Complex relayed the news.

Speaking of the playoffs, do you still think of your loss to the Grizzlies and feel like y’all gave the series away?

Man, I feel like we handed it to them man. It was like taking candy from a baby and they took the candy. We had every game won man and I don’t know what happened. I don’t know what happened.

There is no doubt that if the Minnesota Timberwolves did things just a little differently, they could have won the series. With that being said, the outcome of the series cannot be changed now, and the Memphis Grizzlies clearly won fair and square.

The franchise is clearly looking to win a championship in the near future, as they made a win-now move for Rudy Gobert this offseason. Karl-Anthony Towns aptly stated that the team is in “championship or bust” mode now, and we’ll see if they are able to help win the franchise’s first championship during the next few years.

Anthony Edwards’ development will be key in the Timberwolves potentially winning a championship. Hopefully, we see him become a superstar in the future, and if he does, the Timberwolves will be a force in the Western Conference for years to come.
