Giannis Antetokounmpo won the last two MVP awards, and he has been dominant over the course of the regular season. While Giannis Antetokounmpo is clearly one of the best players in the world, he’s fallen under the radar this season, as the world turned their attention to other superstars.

There are many players who would be deserving of the MVP award, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of them. The Milwaukee Bucks are 3rd in the Eastern Conference, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is putting up monster statistics: 28.5 PPG, 11.4 RPG, 6.0 APG. B. J. Armstrong is a former NBA champion that has suggested that Antetokounmpo is the best player in the world currently. (21:40)

Look, KD is KD. He speaks for himself. He doesn’t need me or anyone to justify what he has done. LeBron James is LeBron James. But it takes effort and energy to do that, go out there and play. You have to play, you have to be healthy. Right now, Giannis has been available. Giannis has been impactful on both sides, and Giannis is the best player right now. But, his body of work doesn’t match the other two guys… If you’re asking me today, it’s Giannis without question.

Armstrong’s argument is sound, as Kevin Durant and LeBron James have both missed games. Kevin Durant and LeBron James are more proven performers, but if they are playing less, it would make sense that at this exact moment someone else is the best player in the world. Using this line of logic, it isn’t necessarily a stretch to say that Giannis Antetokounmpo is a candidate for being the best in the world currently.
