Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat had a lot to celebrate after they clinched a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals after a win over the New York Knicks in Game 6. Jimmy Butler has earned his share of the praise but it was his co-star that stepped up a lot during this series.

Bam Adebayo played quite well against the Knicks, especially in the pivotal Game 6. But he stole the show with what happened in the press conference after too, wholesomely answering a call from his mom.

“I have a lot of respect for Jaylen,” Adebayo was saying when his phone rang. He answered, saying, “Hol’ up, Hi Mommy! Yes… No. I’m in media. I’m in media. Nah, I wasn’t in it. Nah, it’s all good, Ma… Sorry, what did you say?”

It’s really cute that Bam Adebayo had a whole conversation with his mother while fulfilling his media duties with the Miami Heat. Clearly, he respected that she needed to talk to him and didn’t wait or put it off for later. In a world where we often forget about the people that matter the most, Bam Adebayo clearly has his priorities fully figured out.

Bam Adebayo Could Be Up For Another Massive Challenge If The Sixers Beat The Celtics

What he does off the court won’t matter much to Heat fans right now as much as what he does on it. Against all odds, the Heat are in the Eastern Conference Finals. Getting there involved a matchup against Giannis Antetokounmpo for Adebayo. And while that worked out, his next matchup might spell trouble for him if the chips fall in that manner.

The Sixers will take on the Celtics in a Game 7 to make the Conference Finals and take on the Heat. And if the Sixers win, then Adebayo will have to deal with the challenge of the MVP in Joel Embiid. Adebayo is a defensive stalwart, and he has felt in the past like he could be the DPOY, so it will be a big moment for him. Making it to the NBA Finals would take both Adebayo and the Heat’s stock to another level.
