Ben Simmons: “I Don’t Have Any Respect For NCAA At All.”

Amid the NCAA’s latest controversy, many voices throughout the country have spoken up to demand better treatment of women athletes.

In a chat with the media, Sixers star Ben Simmons became the latest big voice to join the movement, blasting the collegiate league for their gender discrepancies.

“I don’t have any respect for NCAA at all,” Simmons said. “What they are doing is wrong. I’ve seen the women’s stuff at the gym. That’s obviously not fair. They have so much money, but they can’t set up a weight room the same and be equal with that? That’s bulls***. There’s no excuse for that.”

There really is no getting around the fact that the NCAA seems to value male athletics over anything else. And while they do make more money, it doesn’t mean the league can’t provide quality equipment for both genders.

Needless to say, this type of behavior just doesn’t fly in 2021. In today’s culture of ultra-accountability, it was only a matter of time before the NCAA got called out.

The question is, what are they going to do about it? That much remains to be seen.
