Bill Simmons Doesn’t Want To Watch The Nets, Celtics Series: “I’m Not Going To Watch Them Dap-Up Kyrie After Playoff Games. This Is One Of The Softest Celtics Teams Ever.”

Hardwood Houdini

Thanks to Boston’s play-in victory on Tuesday, they are set to face the Brooklyn Nets in round one — a series which is sure to feature plenty of interesting narratives.

Unfortunately for Celtics fan Bill Simmons, though, it’s exactly the scenario he was hoping to avoid.

Earlier this week, he admitted that he won’t watch the Celtics, for various reasons, if they have to play against Brooklyn (which we know now that they will).

“I don’t think they’d beat Philly, but I think it would be a respectable performance. But if I have to watch this Celtics team after this piece of sh*t season they had, with all the dumb sh*t that happened, get their a**es kicked by Brooklyn, and then hug Kyrie after every game, I’m honestly not gonna watch.

I’m not gonna watch them dap-up Kyrie after these playoff games. This is one of the softest Celtics teams ever, it’s perfect fodder for them to get the sh*t kicked out of them by Brooklyn, and it’s gonna suck and I’m not gonna like it.”

In case you’re not aware, Boston has had a pretty rough season. Despite this week’s victory, the team has struggled to find its identity amid a new roster, aging young stars, and a plethora of injuries

At this point, it would be a miracle for them to get past the Nets, especially without Jaylen Brown.

To see their team lose against a guy who burned them in the past (Kyrie Irving) can’t be very exciting for Celtics fans.

Nonetheless, that is more than likely what is about to happen. Can’t blame Simmons for being a little salty about it.
