Bill Simmons Takes A Shot At Paul George: “They Traded A Hundred Draft Picks For You And You Can Opt-Out. I Thought Lakers Were Lucky Not Facing Them But Now I Think Lakers Would’ve Beat These Clippers, They Are Mentally Weak.”

Paul George is not the most beloved man in the NBA right now after a tumultuous playoffs run that ended up with the Los Angeles Clippers being eliminated in the second round of the playoffs, blowing a 3-1 lead against the Denver Nuggets. Now PG is in everybody’s mouth after calling himself ‘Playoff P’ and not delivering when his team needed him the most, earning a lot of criticism around the NBA community.

One of the latest people to jump on that train is Bill Simmons, who didn’t miss the chance to call out PG for his inability to win in the postseason while bashing the Clippers for being ‘mentally weak.’ During a recent edition of ‘The Bill Simmons podcast’, the analyst criticized PG-13 for saying this wasn’t a championship or bust season for the Clippers, knowing how many expectations they had entering the season (16:50 minute mark).

“What a terrible thing for Paul George to say “it’s not championship or bust”? Of course it is! They traded a hundred draft picks for you and you can opt out. I thought Lakers were lucky not facing them but now I think Lakers would’ve beat these Clippers, they are mentally weak,” Simmons said.

George needs to pull it together and return next year to try to win it all with the Clippers. They have a very good team and two good players in George and Kawhi Leonard but they missed something to take that final step this year and reach the WCF for the first time in their history.

Next season will be even harder than this one and the Clips will need PG’s best version to once again make a run at the NBA title.
