Bradley Beal And Victor Oladipo Could Be Available In Trade Talks This Summer

3 Min Read

This NBA trade deadline featured a number of league-changing moves. And while the jury is still out on the success of some of these trades, there may not be a lot of time left before the next ones take place.

According to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, a few big names could be placed on the trade block during this summer’s NBA free agency: Bradley Beal and Victor Oladipo.

“Had Beal not agreed to a contract extension in October, he would have been the top name in this year’s trade market. Once we hit the offseason, he’ll be eligible to be moved again. A top-15 player stuck on a rebuilding team, Beal has the potential to entirely reshape the 2021 title race if he lands on a contender. One other name to watch: Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo, who only recently came back from a ruptured quad tendon. Next season will be the final year of his contract, which generates questions about any star player’s future.”

After signing a monster extension just a few months ago, there is no real reason why the Wizards would be pressured to trade Bradley Beal. With John Wall set to return and a few promising young pieces starting to reveal their potential, Washington could be in for better days ahead. But Beal’s unhappiness is no mystery no anyone with eyes and the team could look to deal him for a fresh start and keys to a full-on rebuild.

Oladipo has emerged into an All-Star in Indiana but injury concerns and his expiring contract have made his future with the team uncertain. The Pacers are having a solid season and are a consistent presence in the playoffs but they may need to shake things up if they want to be considered Championship contenders.

While no trade involving either player is imminent, don’t be surprised to see their name floating in the rumor mill this summer. A weak free-agent class will set up the perfect opportunity for teams to make some interesting trades.
