The Phoenix Suns are going full steam ahead for a championship next season, with the team finding ways to make one of the most potent superteams in recent NBA history.

They acquired Bradley Beal to put him beside Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Deandre Ayton already. Beal was finally unveiled as a member of the franchise in a press conference, where he let everyone know that he knows he’s joining Devin Booker’s team.

“I understand that this is Book Nation. I understand that this is his stomping grounds, this is his arena. I am excited for that, I am excited to be able to play with two Hall of Famers.”

Even though KD is also on the squad, everyone knows the Suns are Booker’s team. he kept grinding to make the team better when they were the worst team in the league for multiple seasons. He has stuck through thick and thin, and his loyalty is finally being rewarded as the Suns disregard all CBA rules to build a top-heavy team.

Can This Strategy Succeed?

Recent history indicates that teams need to have depth instead of just putting all their eggs in the baskets of their superstar talents. Despite that, Phoenix is operating in a way where they’re prioritizing having multiple top-end options to rely upon if one or even two of them get hurt. They are even looking to pursue free agent Kyrie Irving.

The Suns will be the No. 1 destination for all players that are likely to be on minimum contracts because of the championship-winning potential of the squad. With some good luck and smart free agency moves, this roster may put itself in the position to be the Nuggets’ only realistic competitor in the West.
