Bradley Beal is entering a 2022-23 NBA season that will be very challenging not only for him but for the Washington Wizards. After months of speculation about his future, the All-Star shooting guard decided to re-sign with the Wizards on a 5-year, $251 million deal to stay in D.C. despite being a sought-after player around the league.

This decision earned him a lot of criticism, but Beal isn’t paying attention to that. He has shown his desire to win in Washington and is ready to do whatever it takes to become a champion with the Wizards.

It won’t be an easy job, they don’t have a contender team, but Bradley thinks he can get the job done at some point. Even though not many people are confident in the current Wizards, Beal knows things could change at any moment.

Bradley Beal Says Winning A Championship Is The Only Thing He’s Missing

During the Wizards’ media day, where Kristaps Porzingis claimed he’s a great fit alongside Beal and Kyle Kuzma, the shooting guard also made his predictions for this team, claiming that he’s focused on winning the championship. Beal says he’s done many things before and the only one left is winning the title.

“My main focus is winning games and trying to help this organization hold up a Larry [O’Brien trophy] one day. That’s my goal. That’s my goal, that’s my dream,” he explained, via NBC Sports

“I’ve shown I can score with the best of them, I’ve shown I can be an All-Star, I’ve shown I can be an All-NBA player. I’ve checked every box. Now I have to win and be a winner. That’s my final box that I want to check and will check.”

He knows he’ll have support from the rest of the team, but he’s owning the responsibility if things don’t go as planned for the Wizards.

“Win, lose or draw; it will be my fault. It sure will. I’m okay with that. I’ve learned to accept that, I’m confident in that,” Beal said. “I’d rather you guys blame me than blame anybody in that locker room. I’m at that point in my career, I’ve always been that way. It’s accepting that and, to me it doesn’t bother me. It just doesn’t.”

This will be a hard job to carry out, but Beal is confident that he can lead his team to the promised land. He vowed to stay there and try to compete at the best level, but with a stacked Eastern Conference, with teams like the Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, and even the Cleveland Cavaliers. They’ll have to fight really hard to win the title.
