The Charlotte Hornets selected Brandon Miller with the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Miller recently made headlines for picking Paul George as the GOAT of the NBA over LeBron James and Michael Jordan.
Hours before getting drafted by the Hornets, Miller was asked about his viral statement. Miller clarified that he believes LeBron James is still the best player in the league, it’s just that Paul George is his GOAT.
“I grew up watching Paul George, not LeBron,” Miller told Taylor Rooks. “I’d never knock LeBron. LeBron is definitely the best in the league but I’m a Paul George fan. I thought I made it clear that my GOAT was Paul George.”

Miller reiterated that he’s not taking a shot at LeBron James. It’s just that Paul George is his favorite player. To be honest, there’s no harm in that.
George is not someone whose name fans often hear in the GOAT debate, so they were simply shocked by Miller’s choice.
As for Miller, the Hornets made a controversial choice of picking him with the No. 2 overall pick over the crowd-favorite Scoot Henderson. Will Miller live up to expectations? Only time will tell.
Miller averaged 18.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 2.1 APG over 37 games during his college career for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2022-23 season.
Will Paul George Get Traded This Summer?
When healthy, Paul George is one of the best players in the NBA. But since joining the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019, PG13 has failed to stay fit. He has played just 189 games over the last four seasons.
Sure, he has averaged 23.2 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 4.9 APG during that stretch, his inability to stay healthy has overshadowed his performances. Keeping that in mind, there were recent rumors about the Clippers potentially trading away the 33-year-old this summer.
But according to a report by Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Clippers aren’t interested in parting ways with the 8-time NBA All-Star.
George played 56 games in the 2022-23 NBA season and posted 23.8 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 5.1 APG.
