ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst’s update on Los Angeles Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard isn’t good news.

Leonard has only played ten games for the Clippers this season, averaging 13.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. He was instrumental in the last couple of games for the side, racking up 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists against the Boston Celtics, and followed it up with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and an assist against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Speaking on ‘NBA Today,’ Windhorst offered an update on Leonard’s health, and safe to say it’s not really optimistic.

"I don't think Kawhi [Leonard] looks very good… He is not moving well in my opinion.”

Do you agree? Do the Clippers need to rest Kawhi more? 🤔https://t.co/MeqyYi4zR3

I am clearly not a professional athlete. One of them is dealing with a recovering knee injury. I don’t think Kawhi [Leonard] looks very good. He had a good game on Monday. I was watching him in the building on Wednesday, he is not moving well in my opinion. He’s had a couple of okay games, and his shooting particularly don’t look good.

Both Leonard and Paul George missed the Clippers’ clash against the Phoenix Suns, which they lost 111-95.

Kawhi Leonard Shifts Focus To End Of The Season Basketball

The Clippers have played 31 games so far but have availed Leonard’s services for less than 50% of their skirmishes. Despite his absence, they sit eighth in the Western Conference standings with a 17-14 record.

Earlier, the forward had a sharp comment where he said his prime focus was on playoff basketball. Speaking to the media after his season-high performance against Boston, he said:

Kawhi Leonard: "I'm not worried about tonight… I don't want to be here tonight. I'm focusing on the end of the year. Playoff basketball. Doesn't matter about tonight."

“I’m not worried about tonight… I don’t want to be here tonight. I’m focusing on the end of the year. Playoff basketball. Doesn’t matter about tonight.”

The statement lends two different perspectives. While it’s good to look at the larger picture, the Clippers need a healthy Leonard to make the postseason.

He’s an integral offensive component for the side and given how stacked the West is, the outfit will be hoping that they have Leonard and George play as many games as possible, giving them a solid chance to make the playoffs.
