Rapper and host of ‘It Is What It Is,’ Cam’ron has dropped an explosive diss freestyle against Anthony Edwards after Edwards used an old Cam’ron take about him not being a superstar as a ‘receipt’ in his latest Adidas ad. The rapper made it clear how he feels about Ant after the ad.

“F**k wrong with Ant Man? Gave him his props, homie got love for me. New commercial, y’all ain’t got love for me? He shot a jump shot and said f**k buddy, the receipt looking like yeah, f**k buddy.”

Cam’ron was rocking a Luka Doncic jersey, referencing Edwards’ Conference Finals loss to the Mavericks, even having some bars inspired by the two-headed monster in Dallas with Luka and Kyrie Irving.

“Kyrie Irving with the sh*t don’t get crossed up. Shooters, pardon that’s just my own thoughts. Luka, I send you home on your home court.”

He shifted his focus to Adidas, blaming them for the subliminal and referencing their penchant for dropping talent if they do something they disagree with, citing Kanye West as an example.

“Adidas I’m blaming y’all, this is your fault. Campaign about the ghost strange, y’all think you got the ball version of Kanye? Come on stop it dude, you just stopping through, he do something you don’t like, you’ll drop him too.”

The 48-year-old artist took shots at Adidas for ending multiple careers towards the end of the track.

“F***ing careers up, T-Mac, Derrick Rose, RG3, John Wall, let ’em know. Reggie Bush, Iman Shumpert, I’m on the road. You know ???, Google what was on his toes.”

This entire issue started with Adidas using an old take from Cam’ron about Edwards not being a superstar and putting it on blast for an advertisement. While the ad has been well-received by mainstream media, it’s clear Cam’ron took issue with how his old take was used.

Edwards averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists this season, taking a leap in the Playoffs where he averaged 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists.

While their season ended on a flat note with a gentleman’s sweep loss to the Mavericks in the Conference Finals, their second-round win over the Nuggets was a career-defining moment that truly launched Ant into superstardom.

Cam’Ron Doesn’t Have Beef With Anthony Edwards

Cam’ron spoke more about the diss track against Edwards later in the episode, making it clear that he doesn’t have personal malice against Edwards and that he has his back. He did make it clear that he doesn’t like Ant’s sneakers.

“I ain’t mean no disrespect this morning, but to be totally honest, I thought the commercial was dope. I don’t f**k with the sneakers, but it was dope… I don’t even remember saying [he wasn’t a superstar]… it must’ve been last season because all season I been having Anthony Edwards back. I don’t know where this came from.”

Edwards probably didn’t single out Cam’s comment to be flamed in the advertisement, which makes sense as to why the harsher bars in the diss are aimed toward the sneaker brand and not the Timberwolves star.

This was definitely a fun and unique way of seeing two cultural figures engage in such a conflict, especially with the diss track mania Kendrick Lamar started with his tracks against Drake. Cam made it clear he has no ill will for Edwards, and it likely won’t escalate from the 22-year-old Wolves’ guard either.
