With Carmelo Anthony’s basketball future up in the air, his personal life is also set to undergo some major change.

According to TMZ, Melo’s wife, La La, has officially filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage to the NBA superstar.

La La and Carmelo’s Anthony‘s marriage has been through a separation, a reconciliation, and years of speculation — but now they’ve amicably decided to officially call it quits.

La La filed divorce docs Thursday in New York, 11 years after tying the knot with the NBA star, and cited irreconcilable differences.

Sources close to the former couple tell TMZ … they’ve been separated for awhile but remain friends, as always, after 16 years together, and everything about the divorce is amicable.

Fortunately, this breakup isn’t your traditional Hollywood drama. Melo and La La are remaining cordial through the process and opting for a peaceful, smooth transition from spouses to exes.

It’s definitely respectable and an interesting deviation from what we’d normally see in these types of celebrity splits.

In regards to the NBA, Carmelo has a lot to think about over the next few weeks and months. After another first-round exit, Melo will have his options open after am admirable individual performance in Portland.

Where he’ll end up, though, remains anyone’s guess.
