Jordan Poole has had a rough start to life in Washington, becoming a constant source of lowlights while dealing with the realities that No. 1 offensive options deal with. Former NBA star Chandler Parsons has joined the growing group of critics that Poole has.

While watching a clip where Poole ignored an open jumper for a layup that got blocked, Parsons criticized Poole’s personality while recognizing his pure ability to play the game.

“Here’s the thing, this is Jordan Poole in a nutshell, right? He’s young, he’s immature, and he’s arrogant. That is all three of those things is this play, and that’s why he’s had some personality issues. The kid can hoop. He belongs in the NBA, but this is the stuff he does that annoys a coaching staff, that annoys his teammates, this is the frustrating stuff. It’s hilarious, there’s a whole Jordan Poole experience. Every game, he’s giving us something like this… I think he’s being silly and this is who he is.”

‘The Jordan Poole’ experience refers to the series of lowlights that have come out of Washington this season, more often than not featuring Poole making bafflingly low-IQ plays. This isn’t the first time he’s ignored an easy shot for a brutal block, as he came out on the wrong end of a similar moment against Kristaps Porzingis earlier this season.

Poole is clearly talented, and he proved that when he was a crucial piece for the Warriors in their ascent to the 2022 championship. However, he hasn’t found that form since the end of the 2022-23 regular season, prompting trade rumors in Washington despite just being a month into his debut season for the franchise.

Kevin Garnett Thinks Jordan Poole Doesn’t Belong In The NBA

Chandler Parsons’ critique of Poole was relatively mild, as he just pointed out flaws in his personality that could be fixed. Hall of Famer and former league MVP Kevin Garnett didn’t sugarcoat his comments as much, brutally saying that Poole doesn’t belong in the NBA, especially in the position of a team leader.

“This is what you learned in Golden State? Them n****s don’t act like professionals. They got your ass out of there because you couldn’t fall in line. N****s like this do not belong in the league. He doesn’t belong in the league as the head of a team. I don’t want my son with a n****a like that. You see how he talks to his teammates? ‘Shut up my n***a, this is my team, I got this.’ You can say whatever you want about me, I never disrespected the game and the position of being a leader.”

Poole is averaging 16.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists this season. He is one of the primary reasons behind the Wizrads having the slow start that they’ve had. They were expected to be among the bottom-feeders in the East, but nobody expected Poole to look this bad. People expected a breakout season similar to James Harden when he was traded to Houston from Poole. So far, that doesn’t look likely.

If the Wizards persist with Poole, they’ll hope he gets his act together, or else they may be left with no choice but to move him.
