Jordan Poole has not made the greatest of impressions with the Washington Wizards so far, and things only got worse during their game against the Boston Celtics. In the first quarter with his team down 26-11, Poole attempted what can best be described as a nonchalant three-pointer over 7’3″ Kristaps Porzingis, who blocked it with ease.

As far as what he was thinking, only he knows. It’d be a terrible shot under any circumstance, but for him to do it with his team getting blown out in the first quarter is a terrible look.

The rest of the game didn’t go much better for Poole, who finished the night with 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and a block, as the Wizards lost 126-107. With this loss, they dropped to 1-2 on the season.

NBA Fans Destroyed Jordan Poole For This Shot Attempt

This sequence instantly went viral on X and NBA fans destroyed Poole for attempting this shot in this manner.

One says Poole is showing who he is after he got his contract and freedom on a new team.

A fan said Poole should have been benched for the rest of the game for this.

Poole thinks he’s Stephen Curry, a fan stated.

One bluntly said this was why the Golden State Warriors traded Poole.

One fan thinks Poole is addicted to creating highlight plays.

The 24-year-old really seems to be taking things way too casually after joining the Wizards. Poole had said that his basketball legacy was taken care of after winning the title with the Warriors and that he was now going to play with no pressure. While that might see some players shine, he just seems to have taken it easy.

This wasn’t even his first boneheaded play of the season, unfortunately; just a few nights back, he attempted a no-look three-pointer and missed it.

This is a great example of things you shouldn’t be doing when you get to a new team. He is just coming off as very immature and with the way Chris Paul is playing, I’d say it looks like the Warriors won the trade as of now.

Andre Iguodala Had Warned Jordan Poole That It Was Time For Him To Grow Up

Andre Iguodala got to see Poole up close during their time together as teammates on the Warriors. While he has a lot of love for him, Iguodala revealed he had warned Poole that it is time for him to grow up.

“I talked to him to this day. I said, Listen, you got to grow up now. You got your own team. It come with some responsibility. And you’ve been in environments where it’s really controlled.”

It certainly doesn’t seem like he listened to what Iguodala said. Poole is now with a team where the standards are not what they were with the Warriors. He doesn’t have a group of veterans around him to keep him in place and seems to have lost that discipline.

Many were expecting Poole to shine with the bigger role that he was going to get on the Wizards, but so far he has struggled. He is averaging 18.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting a woeful 38.5% from the field.

It’s still early on in the season, of course, so he has plenty of time to turn it around, but some of the antics don’t fill me with confidence that things are going to get much better.
