Channing Frye Doesn’t Think Any Current NBA Team Could Beat The Steph-KD Warriors

In just the first few games of the 2020-21 season, we’ve seen some amazing displays of talent.

But as good as teams like the Nets, Lakers, and Clippers are, former NBA power forward Channing Frye says none of them compare to the Warriors at the peak of their dynasty.

Here’s what he said when asked if any team could beat that KD and Steph-led Warriors team:

“Hell no!” Frye exclaimed on the “Dubs Talk” podcast.

“I am shocked that Cleveland won a game. Well, okay, gentleman’s sweep!

You have three guys, in any quarter could give you 30, by themselves. So to double team KD, would be to leave the two best shooters of all time in the NBA open. To double team Steph, would be to play Kevin Durant one-on-one. Like, what? Are you all drunk?”

Featuring at least four Hall of Famers (Steph, Klay, Draymond, Durant), the 2017-2019 Warriors were an absolutely unstoppable force that excelled at nearly every area in the court.

“They [were] just too fast, too good defensively, their bench was locked in, physical, and defensively [they would] switch, switch, switch, and you could not get the ball passed the free throw line,” Frye explained.

“They were just too much. Too much, too skilled, too smart, too locked in. They were just next level.”

When discussing the greatest teams of All-Time, that team is always going to be in the mix. They won two titles in three years in absolutely dominant fashion.

So could any team today stand a chance against them? That’s not for me to say, but it certainly would make for some excellent television.
