The Boston Celtics have been a competitive team for quite some time now, reaching important stages in the Eastern Conference in the past couple of years but never winning something. They have a great group of players now but they’re yet to win an NBA title after a 12-year drought.
Their 2008 NBA championship was great, they beat their archrivals Lakers in the Finals and won their 17th NBA championship. It’s been a lot since that year and some fans (as well as players) have milked that title like there is no tomorrow. That’s why one NBA fan took to Twitter to send a message to the Celtics fan, taking a shot at them and their inability of letting that title go.
One Washington Wizards supporters took to Twitter and wrote something related to the new year, time zones and the Celtics at the same time.
“Time zones are cool af

Australia is in 2021
USA is in 2020
Celtics fans are in 2008,” he wrote.

That was a really clever tweet and it sparked many reactions from fans. While some laughed at the C’s, others defended their team and attacked other squads that did the same when it was their turn to win.
didn't lakers fans need the dam goat to come bail them outta like a ten year playoff drought? asking for a friend..

So… where in the timeline are Clippers fans?

Celtics have the most titles in NBA history, & currently are at least really good if not a contender. And our entire core is homegrown stars. Philly is the only other contender can say that. But keep rooting for capitalist franchises like the Clippers, Lakers, or Brooklyn.

Nah I love this team. It’s all about the future. 2008 was cool. It’s a different NBA now.

The debates don’t stop in the NBA and this guy created a new one while making a joke. The Celtics have a good team now, led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. They have a bright future ahead but it seems like something is missing for them. Until that moment arrives, they will keep holding onto that title that gets older every year.
