Chicago Bulls “Love” LaMelo Ball, Want To Trade Up To Draft Him

2 Min Read

The Ball family is one of basketball’s biggest enigmas. When Lonzo got drafted by the Lakers back in 2017, he drew a lot of attention for his personality and the outspoken words of his father, LaVar.

And now, as LaMelo prepares to make the transition to the NBA, he’s the one drawing attention — and the word on the street is, the Bulls are dead set on getting him.

“I’ve heard the Bulls are fans of LaMelo,” Givony said on the Lowe Post with ESPN’s Zach Lowe.

“They do have some really good pieces in place. I’m hearing that they like Lauri Markkanen a lot more right now than Wendell Carter Jr. That he’s more of an untouchable.”

Last season, LaMelo played 12 games in the NBL, where he averaged 17 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game on 37% shooting.

In Chicago, they are still looking for their long-term, franchise-changing superstar. While Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen have given fans a lot of optimism, they lack a true starting guard and a consistent option from the three-point line.

Melo could be the guy that takes them to the next level. The Bulls, who have not won a Championship since the late ’90s, need all the help they can get.
