The whole world is still talking about the incident that took place at the 2022 Oscars ceremony on Sunday night. During the ceremony, actor Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after Rock made a joke aimed at Smith’s wife Jada and her alopecia. Even Stephen Curry reacted to the incident, noting that he was shocked, but stating that he didn’t want it to take away from Smith’s big win on the night.

One person who was unfazed by Chris Rock telling jokes was Kobe Bryant. In some footage that has recently gone viral, Chris Rock is seen sitting next to fellow actor David Spade, telling jokes and talking nonstop to someone off-camera. The camera pulled back to show Rock was telling jokes to Kobe Bryant during a timeout. But Bryant seemed unbothered, ignoring Rock as he was locked in on the game.

Kobe Bryant is often regarded as one of the most driven and focused players in NBA history. No player, fan, or entity could get under his skin or deter his focus from the game and his ultimate goal; winning. Bryant was always locked in, and would not take his focus away from winning, not just during games, but through the course of the NBA season, as Kobe always wanted to end the season as the NBA champion.

Kobe always wanted to win, even in the latter stage of his career when his injury problems and dip in production took a toll on him. Kobe had an incredibly hilarious reaction on Jimmy Kimmel when he saw a clip of his teammates celebrating after breaking an 8-game losing streak, not saying anything but looking very annoyed and disappointed in his young Laker teammates.

Clearly, no one could get to Kobe when he had his eyes set on winning. And as funny as Chris Rock is as a comedian, Kobe didn’t want to hear anything from him until the game was over.
