In NBA history, there have been elite players. However, there are some unique players that stand out above the rest and are widely remembered by fans and analysts for being absolutely special on the court.

Recently, NBA analyst Colin Cowherd stated that there are only “7 wonders of basketball”, listing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Shaquille O’Neal as those players.

There is no doubt that all those players have certain attributes in their playstyle that make them among the best and most unique players in NBA history. For example, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had an unguardable skyhook move, Magic Johnson was a 6’9 point guard with the best passing ability in NBA history, and Stephen Curry is the best shooter of all time. There are definitely some other players that could be added to this list: for example, Kevin Durant is a 7-footer with the shot-creation ability, skill level, and speed of a normal-sized wing player. It will be interesting if there are any adjustments to this list from Colin Cowherd in the future, or whether these players will always be the 7 wonders of basketball.

Stephen Curry Has A Killer Mentality Like The Other Greats

Even though a lot of people don’t believe Stephen Curry isn’t a top 10 player of all time, it is clear that he is one of the most unique players in NBA history. He definitely has a killer mentality like the other greats that he is compared to. In fact, Anthony Davis recently gave the point guard his respect, noting that as long as Curry is playing, a playoff series against the Golden State Warriors is never over.

“As long as he’s on the other side, it’s not over,” Davis said. “I remember we were up 20 in New Orleans… He went on a run, the whole team obviously, but he’s the head of the snake, and when he’s playing unbelievable basketball. … Their team just never goes away.”

It will be interesting to see what Stephen Curry does in Game 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers. He has the talent to will the Los Angeles Lakers back from 3-1 down and has already expressed confidence that it can be done. Curry is one of the most dangerous players in the league, especially with his back against the wall, and the Lakers will need to be at their best to beat him.
