- Former NBA player Brain Scalabrine claimed that top prospect Cooper Flagg destroyed Bradley Beal in a 1-on-1 game
- Scalabrine also stated that Beal got mad at the 16-year-old after he started talking trash to him
- Flagg says he and Beal never played 1-on-1
Cooper Flagg is one of the brightest high school prospects in the U.S. and has started to make a lot of waves in the basketball world. His legend grew even further when former NBA player Brian Scalabrine claimed that the 16-year-old had destroyed Bradley Beal in a 1-on-1 game.
Scalabrine also mentioned that Flagg talked trash to Beal who got really mad at the teenager. Beal seemed to dismiss this rumor not long after and now Flagg has also come out and stated it never happened.
“Me and Brad Beal never played one-on-one. I got no beef with Brad.”

Scalabrine now has egg on his face and he really should have made sure that this actually happened before putting it out there. Beal just got a whole lot of negative coverage for no absolute reason and it was good on Flagg’s part to set the record straight.
The fact that many believed this actually happened, speaks to just how good Flagg is. Standing at 6’8″, he put up ridiculous averages of 25.4 points, 13.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 6.8 blocks per game at the Nike Peach Jam last month. Flagg is vying for the title of the no. 1 prospect of the 2025 class with Cameron Boozer and the way he’s going, it might not be long before he is the undisputed top man.
Bradley Beal Has A New Role For Next Season
Getting back to Beal, it appears he will have a new role next season with his new team. It was reported that he will be entering training camp as the starting point guard for the Phoenix Suns. His agent Mark Bartelstein is also confident his client will flourish in his new role but time will tell.
The three-time All-Star has never really played at the point and averages just 4.3 assists per game for his career. Last season, he averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game. The Suns certainly seem to believe he can pull it off and it’s definitely a situation to keep an eye on.
