Danny Green Says He Knows The Lakers Could Trade Him This Offseason: “I Understand The Nature Of The Business. Everybody Is Going To Get Better.”

Some players have had to deal with trade rumors every single year they’ve been in the league. Either because of their team-friendly deals, their skill set, or just because they’re expendable, that’s just how things go down in the National Basketball Association, and that’s not likely to change any time soon.

One guy that has often been tied with moves to other organizations has been Danny Green. He’s been one of the best 3-and-D players in the league for quite a while, and with his ‘moveable’ contracts, he could be at the top of various team’s wishlist.

And, considering how last season panned out for the Los Angeles Lakers and what’s ahead of them for next season, Danny Green took to the Inside The Green Room Podcast to open up about knowing that he could be moved at any moment:

“It’s been almost 10 years now me hearing about trade rumors. You ignore the noise. If it happens, it happens. R.P. (Rob Pelinka) is a respectful guy. I’m sure he’ll give me a call. I understand the nature of the business. Everybody is going to get better. Everybody’s looking to make moves and get better, so we need to do that as well. Hopefully, part of that process is still keeping me here. I think we bring everybody back. We do what we did this year and hopefully not in a bubble,” Danny Green said.

The Los Angeles Lakers could certainly use Danny Green’s defense and hopefully, his shot will start falling again after his well-documented struggles in the bubble.

But, if not, we can be pretty sure that Green is going to find a new home with a contending team right away, either via trade or buyout, as he’s still got plenty left in the tank and has a highly-coveted skillset in today’s pace-and-space, positionless basketball.
