The refereeing in the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the Golden State Warriors Western Conference Semifinals has been far from perfect.
In fact, the Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr has openly called out the Lakers for trying to flop throughout the series and racking up foul calls in their favor. According to The Athletic’s Jovan Buha, Ham threw shade at Steve Kerr before the start of Game 5.
“I just control what I can control, which is coaching my team. I don’t go down the rabbit hole of blaming officials.”

Ham certainly tried to take a shot at Kerr for his comments about the Lakers flopping in the series. Even after the Game 5 loss, Ham revealed that he no longer understands what a foul is in the NBA anymore.
“We played the same way we always play,” Ham said. “I don’t know what’s a foul anymore.”

Darvin Ham seemed frustrated with Kerr’s constant remarks about the Purple and Gold’s flopping.
But can we really blame Kerr though? After all, the Lakers held a 103-51 advantage in free throw attempts prior to Game 5 of the series.
Darvin Ham Took A Shot At Steve Kerr Mid-Game
The Los Angeles Lakers had no answer for the Golden State Warriors as they lost Game 5 with a 106-121 score.
Speaking of the matchup, Darvin Ham got an opportunity to take a shot at Steve Kerr mid-game and accepted the opportunity with open arms. Ham explained that he doesn’t teach his team flopping when a clear foul call was missed on Dennis Schroder.
“Yeah, we don’t teach flopping,” Ham said. “We teach our players to play downhill and attack the paint and be forceful.”
There is no doubt that the Lakers like to play a physical brand of basketball. Evidently, that style of play allows them to get more foul calls in their favor since they attack the paint more.
But the Warriors came ready for it in Game 5 and made excellent adjustments. Can the Dubs do that once again in the crucial Game 6 of the series? We will find out on Friday when they will play at the Crypto.com Arena.
