De’Aaron Fox Criticizes Potential All-Star Game: “I’m Going To Be Brutally Honest, I Think It’s Stupid.”

3 Min Read

De’Aaron Fox is playing really well this season with the Sacramento Kings. The team is still trying to reach the next level and Fox is working on that, having a very good season individually speaking. He’s on a mission right now but that doesn’t mean he’s not focused on other things happening around the league.

He could get the call for the All-Star Game this season and even though it wasn’t secure that the league was going to hold the game, Fox wasn’t happy with the rumors suggesting the league was working on an agreement to carry out the event this season. After Wednesday’s game, De’Aaron was very vocal about the potential ASG held in Atlanta, calling it “stupid.”

“If I’m going to be brutally honest, I think it’s stupid. If we have to wear a mask and do all of this for a regular game, then what’s the point of bringing the All-Star Game back? Obviously, money makes the world go round, so it is what it is. I mean, I’m not really worried about it. If I’m voted, so be it. If I’m not…”

One reporter asked him if he planned to skip the game, in the case of being selected, and Fox said he would play but only to avoid getting fined by the league.

“You know you get fined? If you’re supposed to be in it, and you’re not hurt and you decide not to play, that’s a hefty fine, so hell yeah I would play in it. I hope I don’t get fined for saying that s—.”

Fox didn’t get enough votes to be part of the top 10 guards in the Western Conference despite his recent performances with the Kings.

The young player is trying to lift his team and make it to the playoffs this year. That’s his main focus this season and as long as he meets his goal, he will be happy with the campaign. The NBA is reportedly ready to hold the game in Atlanta next month and it’s unclear if Fox will actually make the cut for the big event.
