Over the last few seasons, the Los Angeles Clippers have done a lot to build a competitive roster and ultimately win an NBA Championship. Although the Clippers certainly added star talent to the roster, they still haven’t been able to even reach the NBA Finals.

The dynamic duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have been playing well when they are actually fit, but they haven’t been fit a lot over the last couple of seasons. As a result, many believe if the Clippers had a legitimate third superstar on the team, they would be in a much better position. Well, that third star could have been Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan.

Last season, DeRozan took his talents to the Bulls despite being a constant interest from the Clippers. At the time, many believed these were nothing but rumors.

DeMar DeRozan On If Joining The Clippers Was An Actual Possibility

During the offseason, many big-name players are linked to several franchises. However, often times they turn out to be nothing but rumors. Well, most thought it was the case with DeRozan being linked with the Clippers as well. However, DeMar himself revealed he was just a day away from signing with the Los Angeles Clippers last offseason.

“Nothing but respect for Lawrence Frank and the entire Clippers organization. Great people. It definitely was an opportunity that presented itself. I think for me, the Chicago thing just took off by the time they was on their way to my house. It was a situation, I just didn’t… I didn’t pass it up. … It really happened that way. It could’ve been a day earlier, it would’ve worked.”

Many believed there was no truth to these rumors since reports suggested DeMar was not keen on taking a pay cut to join the Clippers. But DeRozan himself confirmed he was just a day away from signing with the organization.

Well, there is a possibility that he may still end up donning the jersey of the Clippers, as the Bulls are currently having a terrible season, and DeRozan looks frustrated with the current condition of the team.
