Dennis Schroder On Lakers And Free Agency: “I Want To Be A Laker For A Long Time… I Just Want It To Be Fair.”

Dennis Schroder has become the piece the Los Angeles Lakers needed this season to remain the biggest candidates to win the 2021 NBA championship. The purple and gold had a very entertaining offseason and it’s fair to say the German point guard was the best acquisition for Frank Vogel and co.

After having tenures with the Atlanta Hawks and Oklahoma City Thunder, Dennis has found himself in a very good position with the Lakers, ready to win his first NBA ring alongside LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and more. But, he doesn’t want this to be a one-season tenure; he wants to remain a Laker for the rest of his career but also wants things to be ‘fair.’

Earlier this week, the point guard expressed his desire to continue with the team but there are factors to take into account at the time of signing an extension with the organization.

“At the end of the day, I want to be a Laker for a long time. But I’ve always said I want it to be fair. I don’t know what’s going to happen. … But I don’t want to think about it too much and not play the right way as well,” Schroder said.

He also praised the team’s front office and the way they do business, saying that Rob Pelinka is great at his job, as well as the coaches.

The Lakers started the second half of the season with 4 straight victories, with Dennis having a big role in the team’s success. They don’t have Anthony Davis right now but the rest of the team is stepping up when they need it the most. They are still a threat in the Western Conference and once AD returns to the court, this team will look even more dangerous.
