The Los Angeles Lakers improved an already impressive roster with the addition of Sixth Man of the Year candidate Dennis Schroder from the Oklahoma City Thunder.
And, while he had his fair share of struggles at the end of the season, he’s trending up and proving that he’s one of the best role players in the league right now.
That’s why he’s likely going to get plenty of suitors in the offseason and, as per his own words, he’s going to see his options because he wants a deal that’s fair for him:
“It’s a crazy business. At the end of the day, I want to play the season out… I for sure want to be a Laker, but I want to see my options… I want to see my options, but I want to be a Laker. (…) It needs to be fair for both sides, and I’m going to stay with that,” Schroder told the media, according to Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen & Roll.

Schroder is giving the Lakers a big boost on both ends of the floor. Nonetheless, he’s reportedly looking for a multi-year extension that will pay him $20 million per year.
That steep price could lure him away from the Lakers as there will be at least a couple of teams willing to overpay and outbid the purple and gold for his services.
