Dillon Brooks is far from everyone’s favorite player in the NBA, he has a lot of haters. Many players across the league have poked fun at him, and Draymond Green is at the forefront of that.

But he remains a quality role player, Dillon Brooks is both tenacious and talented. His explosive nature works against him with the referees, too though, he leads the NBA in technical fouls this season. And his Memphis Grizzlies teammate, Desmond Bane, recently accepted a comparison calling Brooks the ‘Evil Danny Green.’

“I definitely will take that,” Bane said when asked if he refers to Brooks as ‘Evil Danny Green’ too. “Evil DG, that’s good.”

Danny Green spent some time on the Grizzlies as well, and he gave his take on Brooks, saying, “I’m trying to rub off on him in a positive light. ‘Bring you over to the good side. All day you’re trying to mess with people. Be a normal guy today.’ But that’s just him. He likes to talk his sh*t, likes to mess with people. That’s just the competitive nature.”

Desmond Bane agreed with that, too, saying, “I don’t even know what kind of player he would be without it. That’s kind of what makes him who he is. You gotta live with the 20 technicals and First Team All-Defense.”

Dillon Brooks and Danny Green somewhat look alike too, which is what makes the comparison even funnier. But in saying this, Desmond Bane has given insight into how the Grizzlies’ locker room feels about Brooks. His production is clearly good enough to warrant him being a little extra feisty. And it’s not like Brooks isn’t a good player, either.

LeBron James Praised Dillon Brooks Ahead Of Their Coming Matchup

As was to be expected, when the Lakers got matched up against the Memphis Grizzlies, Dillon Brooks had something to say about it. But LeBron James was actually complimentary of him, highlighting his shot-making ability

“Dillon Brooks, he’ll have an opportunity to go out there and you can’t disrespect him because he makes shots,” James said.

Dillon Brooks is far from the most impactful player on the Grizzlies, he tends to be a little inefficient as well. But he is the heart of the roster in that he will compete harder than almost anybody on the floor. As funny as the ‘Evil Danny Green’ tag is, the one thing Brooks has proved is that he is completely himself.
