LeBron James didn’t forget about Dillon Brooks when assessing the Memphis Grizzlies ahead of their first-round playoffs matchup.

The King showed off his privileged memory, talking about the entire Memphis Grizzlies team, even touching on some of their role players. When it came to Dillon Brooks, LeBron said (via Commercial Appeal):

“Dillon Brooks, he’ll have an opportunity to go out there and you can’t disrespect him because he makes shots,” LeBron said of the swingman.

The Los Angeles Lakers secured the 7th seed in the Western Conference standings after a big win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament. The Purple and Gold survived against a dangerous team in OT, with Dennis Schroder coming in clutch for them.

Now, the challenge will be bigger for them, as the Grizzlies are one of the best teams in the West and will surely put up a good fight against the Lakers.

Dillon Brooks Says He Wants To See LeBron James In First Round Of The Playoffs

Dillon Brooks is confident in his squad and isn’t ducking any smoke. The controversial player sent a message to the Lakers, saying that a win against LeBron James would change anybody’s legacy, and he wants to take that opportunity.

“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron in a 7-game series,” said Brooks. “The legacy is there. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away in the first round. It’ll test us good. They got good pieces, good players, and that’ll be a good 1st round matchup for us.”

This could be a response to Draymond Green saying Brooks hasn’t done anything in his NBA career, and a win against LeBron would do a lot for Dillon. The Grizzlies are still trying to win the championship and a win against an inspired Lakers team will be the best start for their run.

Despite LeBron’s motivation to shut the Grizzlies down, Memphis has a lot to win here but also plenty to lose. This series will be fun to watch, and whoever gets the win will be a threat to their next rivals.
