NBA fans have already declared the Los Angeles Lakers as firm favorites to trounce the Memphis Grizzlies and advance to the second round of the NBA 2022-23 playoffs.

The Lakers registered a thrilling 108-102 overtime win against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in to grab the seventh seed and book a date with the Grizzlies. And this had fans believing that LA would eventually make a deeper run.

“Lakers should win in no more than 6 games. No Adams, No Clark. Anthony Davis should be 30 & 12 minimum,” one of the fans tweeted.

This was one of the familiar tweets that did the rounds: “Lake show in 6.”

One fan outlined why he felt the Lakers would emerge victorious.

For some, it was all about the basketball gods answering fans’ wishes.

Fan chatter apart, Dillon Brooks was already waiting to take on LeBron James. “I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron in a seven-game series,” the Grizzlies guard said via NBA… “[It’s him] first time back in the playoffs [since 2021]. Knock him out right away. They’ll test us well. They’ve got good pieces and good players. That’ll be a good first-round matchup for us.”

Expect this playoff matchup to be filled with fireworks.

LeBron James Has His Take On The Grizzlies Roster

Soon after sealing a playoff berth, LeBron James had to field questions about the Lakers’ postseason run, and one of the questions was about his thoughts on the Memphis roster.

“Really good team, very well coached, very well balanced, obviously the head of the snake is Ja Morant,” James explained.

“Another All-Star in Jaren Jackson is up there in Defensive Player of the Year as well as blocked shots. Offensively, he’s very dynamic as well. Tyus Jones has led the league in the assists-to-turnover ratio in the last 6 years. Desmond Bane is in his second or third year but plays like a veteran, his ability to shoot the ball from the 3-point line and he can attack early transitions.”

He further added: “Dillon Brooks, you can’t disrespect him because he can make shots… Luke Kennard broke my scoring record in high school, passed me, and it’s because he’s a laser from the 3-point line. His ability to shoot the ball is uncanny. They got so many guys off the bench that you can’t disrespect them because they’ll make you pay. Obviously, I haven’t thought about Memphis one bit.”

For someone who said he hasn’t thought of the Grizzlies yet, James has pretty much detailed out a mini report, and that shows that he and the Lakers aren’t going to go down without a fight.

Can the Lakers repeat their bubble heroics? Only time will tell.
